Statistical Artificial Intelligence Lab · KAIST

Intelligence built to explain its reasoning.

We study how machines learn, infer, and make decisions in complex systems—then bring those ideas into weather, science, robotics, language, and industry.

KAIST Research on Multi-Agent AI Safety Featured on MBC

The research team developed Multi-Agent Dark-Web Safety, a simulation framework for evaluating privacy and information security risks in multi-agent AI systems. It examines whether collaborating AI agents comply with security policies, respect information access restrictions, and avoid unauthorized use of sensitive information. The project includes tools for visualizing agent interactions and analyzing safety-related behaviors. Supported by the AI Guardians project, the research was featured on MBC and is publicly available on GitHub, contributing to efforts to build safer, more reliable, and accountable AI systems.

A lab for consequential questions

“How can an intelligent system remain useful when the data are uncertain, the environment changes, and people need to understand the decision?”

SAIL connects statistical inference with modern machine learning. Our work moves between theory and deployment, shaped by the demands of real systems.
